It was a big day for the silverbacks as this was their chance for glory. On the table was advancing to the final Africa stage of the Rugby 7s Rio de Janeiro Olympic qualifying. Could they seize this chance? Could they be the victor out of Mauritius, Botswana, Zambia, Brundi and DRC? Well… no. But they gave a good showing.

The highlights of the day were a battering of Burndi and an inexplicable loss against DRC. Rwanda were more skillfull but didn’t use their natural advantage upstairs against the larger DRC team.

Rugby in Rwanda is coming up and I am sure the silverbacks will go from strength to strength in the future.
